The University of Sultan Azlan Shah Malaysia (USAS) was originally known as Darul Ridzuan Islamic College (KISDAR) established in 1999 by the Islamic Religious and Islamic Malay Council and was registered with the Perak State Islamic Affairs Department under the Control of the Islamic Religious Schools 1996. KISDAR became the Statutory Body of the Perak State Government through the Darul Ridzuan Islamic College Enactment (Enactment No. 3 of 2000).
Research and Consultancy (RnC) main function is to manage all the activities of research and innovation. The implementation of this function in line with the university's vision to become a world-class institution of higher learning through excellence in research and innovation. To enable the effective deliverance of its functions, the four main divisions were created under PSC comprise of Research Grant Management, Intellectual Property (IP) and Commercialization, Research Support, and Administration and Finance.
