  1. ZAKAT ASNAF ECONOMIC ENERGY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

KETUA PENYELIDIKAN IR. DR. AHMAD FAIZUL SHAMSUDIN, DR. ANAS TAJUDDIN, DR. ROSLAN ABDUL RAHIM, MARIANI BINTI OMAR, NURHANIS ISHAK, ASSOC. PROF. DR. ZATUL KARAMAH AHMAD BAHARUL ULUM,

PROF. DR. JAMALLUDIN HELMI BIN HASHIM, DR. MOHD FUAD MOKHTAR, PROF. SUHAIMI SAIDIN, NAJHAN MOHD IBRAHIM, USTAZAH SALMAH ABOL.

Zakat is compulsory and represents the righteous practice of all Muslims who are eligible to perform it. Recent studies show that Zakat has become part of the third sector of the economy (Haneef, M.A., 2013; Arshad, N., 2014). Zakat capital is an innovation as a social financing instrument that gives Asnaf a startup capital to start a small business and become a successful and capable entrepreneur of Zakat. Thus, Maqasid Zakat is seen to be achieved for the purpose of giving Zakat to Asnaf fakir (lower level) and Asnaf masakin (poor) so that their income will exceed Kifayah limit and become rich (Al-Qardawi, Y., 1999). When MAIPk invited several Perak state HEIs (e.g., UPSI, UiTM, USAS) to present suggestions on the impact of the State of Zakat I distribution at the USAS level, the study focused on Asnaf and their focus on the effectiveness of zakat. This proposal is broadly encompassing all the 8 Asnaf zakat namely Fakir, Poor, Amil, Muallaf, Riqab, Gharimin, Fisabilillah and Ibn Sabil as illustrated in the figure presented by USAS.
